high-ranking source of the Karenni Army (KA) revealed that on 19 April 2025, the Shan State Local Revolutionary Army (South) consisting of 1005, 1008, SSLRU, SODF, a total of 4 battalions, together with the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF), a total of 9 battalions, including SSNDF B-101, B-102, B-103 groups and the KNDF drone battalion, announced that they would cooperate in fighting the Burmese military in the southern Shan State area, north of Loikaw Township, Karenni State, and would report directly to the Strategic Command of the Karenni Army (KA).
